The objective of AUC is to foster a leadership culture that makes substantial contributions to Egypt and the international community in a variety of sectors. One of AUC’s key focuses is to give financial help to AUC students through financial aid and scholarship programs, in order to further this goal.

Auc Scholarship

AUC attracts talented young men and women to the University through scholarship awards and provides them with an education that equips them to make a positive difference in Egypt and around the world. AUC awards merit-based and need-based scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to students who have particular credentials, such as academic, athletic, or creative talent, as well as a great financial need.

AUC offers over 90 named scholarships financed by people and corporations, thanks to the generosity of our donors. AUC has been able to attract and educate talented and suitable students from many locations, countries, and educational backgrounds thanks to these funds from famous donors. This includes giving qualified students with disabilities the opportunity to participate in this life-changing learning experience. Non-degree international study abroad students can also apply for AUC scholarships.

International Student Scholarships:

AUC awards merit-based and need-based scholarships. AUC offers a variety of scholarships to qualified students who have demonstrated high financial need and have a strong academic record.

1. The AUC Refugee Scholarship
The scholarship offers full support to refugee students who wish to study at AUC.

2. Scholarship for the Environment
This is a partial scholarship awarded every semester for continuing students that will fund the cost of three credit hours of instruction in a degree program at AUC. Students must demonstrate financial need, have had clean conduct and academic integrity record for the previous semester, have a minimum GPA of 2.0, be registered as a full-time student, and demonstrate a positive contribution to the AUC Tobacco-Free initiative.

3. Cultural Scholarship
This is an annual scholarship provided to a select number of students with distinguished achievements in any cultural activity. Students awarded this scholarship receive a partial reduction in their tuition for a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester.

4. The Scholarship of the Student Union (SU)
This is a partial scholarship that is awarded every fall and spring semester for continuing students.

This is an annual scholarship provided to a select number of students who participate in University-sponsored sports. Students who are awarded this scholarship receive a partial reduction in their tuition for a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester.

6. The AUC Liberal Arts Undergraduate Scholarship
Building upon AUC’s commitment to internationalization to offer exceptional liberal arts education in a cross-cultural environment and promoting liberal arts education in Egypt. The AUC liberal arts undergraduate scholarship will offer exceptional partial and full undergraduate scholarships to students from Egypt, the region, and the United States to study humanities and social sciences.

2021-2022 American University in Cairo Scholarship (AUC) African Graduate Fellowships for Masters Students in Africa:

The African Graduate Grant is a competitive fellowship for intelligent, highly motivated African students who want to pursue a master’s degree at AUC. Each year, full-time study (nine credits or more) in any of AUC’s graduate programs is made available to nationals of African countries (excluding Egyptians).

Education Fellowships for International Students at the American University of Cairo (AUC):

The American University of Cairo (AUC) Education Fellowships for International Students are now accepting applications.

Recognizing the challenges that Egypt and the region face, the Graduate School of Education (GSE) contributes to education reform by providing the theoretical, applied, and technical assistance components needed to build the capacity of professionals in the education system who apply to the Master of Arts in international and comparative education and Educational Leadership (MA) with concentrations in School Leadership and Higher Education.

The extremely competitive GSE fellowship will provide students with the opportunity to work with a faculty member on their research and other professional work in addition to partial tuition support.

AUC International Graduate Fellowships: Their Purpose and Benefits

The fellowship covers the following topics:

  • Fees for a maximum of nine credits each semester in tuition.
  • Fees for student programs and activities
  • stipend per month
  • Health-care services and insurance
  • Accommodation in the AUC apartments at the AUC New Cairo Campus or a monthly housing allowance

Qualification Requirements for AUC International Graduate Fellowships:

  • International applications are welcome, and graduate studies in any field are welcome.
  • For new graduate degree-seeking students who meet the AUC graduate full admissions
  • requirements, full admission to one of AUC’s graduate programs is required.
  • For continuing students, the grantee must maintain a GPA of 3.2 in order to keep the fellowship.
