Mission:
The Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative aims to combine tuition aid with student support to guarantee that every Colorado student has affordable access to postsecondary education and can get the degree or certificate they need to enter the workforce.
We will develop a state-wide network exhibiting good and proven methods that address concerns of cost and access by leveraging a $35 million grant from the State of Colorado in 2014. Success in the past will motivate the General Assembly and community partners to contribute annually to finance scholarships in the future.

Adults (25+) can get support and scholarships through a new relationship with the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative and CSU Pueblo to achieve college certificates or degrees.
The Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) was established to address the state’s high number of adults with college degrees, which is the result of credentialed migrants moving in rather than a well-educated native workforce. COSI would use a funding strategy that has bipartisan support to expand the application of best practices across the state.
The program develops community efforts and engages private donors to enhance available scholarships well beyond the state’s investment by using state funding to promote local generosity.
